Do you get nervous about making more complicated blocks? This is a "sampler" class with dozens of block options. Explore different techniques while assembling components like half square triangle squares, quarter square triangle squares, flying geese, paper piece units, mitered borders, mitered binding and more. This is a 3 day class.

Cost: $ 63.00
A lecture/demonstration class for the experienced sewer or previous quilter looking for a refresher course with all the latest basic techniques. Lots of class handouts and patterns for a homework project are included.

Cost: $ 40.00
Improv quilts are fun to make but they can be a little worrisome because there is no predefined model to follow. Results can be unpredictable. Wisconsin designer Judy Hashieder has given us a pattern that allows us to achieve that free-form look without the angst created by the venturing into the unknown. In this two session class, you may choose to make the quilt exactly as designed (please refer to the pattern cover.) Or, you can add a few quirks and make the quilt your own like I did in the sample pictured.

Cost: $ 56.00
In this class, the focus is on building curved piecing skills in a free-form style quilt.

Cost: $ 38.50
Karla Alexander of Saginaw Street Quilts is one of those designers whose designs are instantly recognizable, and Inversion one of her newer patterns is an excellent example of that characteristic. I see Inversion as an excellent value study. Created in light and dark fabrics, the design of the finished quilt is reminiscent of a Native American squash blossom rug. Karla gives us an easy and accurate way to achieve that look.

Cost: $ 28.00
Have you ever wanted to create a collage quilt and did not know where to start? For this class, you will select one of Laura's patterns (Quilter's Store carries several) and learn how to utilize her use of color to create a fabric collage quilt. We used her "Hip Hop" pattern for our example. This class will be taught over two-sessions, one week apart, to allow extra time to work at home.

Cost: $ 42.00
Out of the Box is an exercise in improvisational and scrap quilting. Out of the Box quilts generally begin with scraps from other projects to create the adventure. New fabrics may present themselves for approval: there are fat quarters and layer cakes and charm packs and jelly rolls. There is yardage ! So bring your scraps, orphans and/or pieces from your stash. Share your fabric treasures with your classmates. New fabrics will be added as you create your design and the quilt asks for them. Quilts do talk to us, you know ! We will begin improvising in class and build your comfort level with the process so you can continue your odyssey at home.

Cost: $ 28.00
