Our fall classes are being scheduled. Come into the store to see samples of classes being offered. 

Any full price items purchased for a class will be discounted 10%.  On the day of the class, students will be given a 10% discount on all full price merchandise (excluding gallery) in the store.

This class is intended for quilters who have done some free motion quilting, and would like to improve their skills. Emphasis will be on quilting feathers and various background patterns without marking.

Do you get nervous about making more complicated blocks? This is a "sampler" class with dozens of block options. Explore different techniques while assembling components like half square triangle squares, quarter square triangle squares, flying geese, paper piece units, mitered borders, mitered binding and more. This is a 3 day class.

The designer states, "Improvisational paper-pieced hexagon blocks explode in every direction." The first session of this two-part class will focus on creating the hexies: selecting pairs of fabrics, deciding which layout to use, deciding how many of each fabric combination to make, and getting started on making blocks. The second session will focus on constructing the quilt: creating the layout in offset vertical rows, joining vertical rows using set-in seams, and options for finishing the edges. This is a 2 session class.

The perfect project for fat quarter lovers. The pattern shows three sizes, table runner, throw and extra large throw. This one is so easy to enlarge that you may find a bed size quilt as your final product.

A lecture/demonstration class for the experienced sewer or previous quilter looking for a refresher course with all the latest basic techniques. Lots of class handouts and patterns for a homework project are included.

This class is perfect for quilters who have done little or no free motion quilting. Emphasis will be on quilting smooth lines and curves, with even stitches, without pre-marking the design. Simple motifs will be practiced such as spirals, loops, leaves, flowers and background filler.

Have you ever wanted to create a collage quilt and did not know where to start? For this class, you will select one of Laura's patterns (Quilter's Store carries several) and learn how to utilize her use of color to create a fabric collage quilt. We used her "Hip Hop" pattern for our example. This class will be taught over two-sessions, two weeks apart, to allow extra time to work at home.

Create your own quilt masterpiece from a landscape photo of your choosing by "painting with fabric." You'll learn how to transition a photo or picture to a working pattern for construction and get tips for choosing fabrics that best represent the elements in your picture. A variety of quilting techniques will be covered to help you create your masterpiece.

Make a bag, or perhaps two, with a clever snapping closure. These are great for small items when traveling, or project supplies, or ???? They have many uses and make great gifts. A typical size is 7" x 7", but they can vary.

Make a simple, small landscape quilt using Skinny Strips of fabric. Karin will provide a basic plan to begin your piece. You will use your Skinny Strips as is and will also cut them into little pieces to sprinkle about in the scene. This is a fast, fun and forgiving technique.

Gather your favorite T-shirts and learn how to create a quilt with them. We'll plan an interesting layout with sashings and borders of added fabrics to enhance the T-shirts in each student's collection. Hands-on work will include preparation and stabilization of the T-shirts for quilt blocks.

This class teaches a technique that will make the construction of free-form nine patch blocks easier than you ever thought possible.
